Hi everyone . I have recently bought a 63 plate 3.0 D S XF ( a beautiful thing ) which over the last two days has displayed a warning light saying that the battery is not being charged. I have had this checked out by an auto electrician who tells me that the battery is fine and also that the alternator is fine.

Still under warranty and is booked into the dealer next week but just wondered if anyone has had this experience and what was the outcome ?

I have experienced the same warning although it comes and goes. It will come up whilst driving but when the engine is stopped and then started, the warning disappears. When the warning is displayed the stop/start system doesn't work.I haven't done anything about it yet.

On my car there is a unit connected to the battery +ve that monitors the voltage...check it still connected or get Jaguar to prove its working OK if your car is still under warranty.

I was plagued with this for a while. I was on the point of going to the dealer but decided to just check the battery out. I found one of the connectors, (not the main battery one but a smaller relay type) that was very loose. Tightened bolt and fingers crossed it seems to have fixed it. might be worth a quick look if you haven't already.;)
