Na, its quite flexible. Looks drastic, but it will pop back in to shape once you cut the cable ties. Done it 👍

Didn’t think of that haha, didn’t want to break it have to get a new one. I’ve ordered the new sensor so will give that a try when I go to fit it next week

 

Pull liner back on itself and use cable ties to hold it back, like on a wheel spoke 👍

Well that was fun. All the bolts came off easily, mostly. How the hell do you get the 2 inside the wheel arch properly without taking the wheel arch lining off. I spent most of my time trying to get at them. In the end I just got the left side off and got the sensor for the part number. Couldn’t find my multimeter so I’m just going to buy a replacement and see what happens

 

Nothing like seeing what is actually on the car. Although over time parts get revised, so part numbers can alter slightly.

 

I was looking at this one but the part number Jag gave me doesn't match (although my VIN does fall in the range that it says) - PEDESTRIAN IMPACT SENSOR - T2R17056 / CX23-14B653-A

Although he also said there were 2 sensors when there are 3 so I don't really trust what he was saying just gonna have to get the bumper off and check the part numbers for myself.

Part number Jag gave me was C2Z22384. Can find plenty of them on eBay but not in this country. One was from Lithuania and was about £40 but had £395 delivery charges hahaha

 

Yeah as long as a 2nd hand one is guaranteed then no problem.

Quite a common sensor to go at the moment. Must be the 'age' that many people's are going U.S at the same time. Engineers bathtub curve comes to mind

Yeah I watched a video the other day on how to take the bumper off and it looks like a reasonably straight froward job. Will have to go root out my multimeter. Just called Jag to see if I could find out the part number and they are quoting £126 for a single sensor (with no estimate of delivery timescales due to the cyber attack). I nearly fell off my chair haha compared to £23 for a 2nd hand part

 

Bumper needs to come off, quite easy.

Check sensor wiring and sensor itself with multimeter.

Replace sensor if duff
