Low Battery warning on start up - random 'battery not charging' message

Had the car 3 weeks now, every time the ignition is turned on, the centre display (media/nav) says low battery and to switch on engine or computer will shut down to save battery.

It starts fine every morning, though.. also every so often, the 'BATTERY NOT CHARGING' message come up on dash.

I've had the batteries checked to see if they are in fact charging and they are.

The Eco Stop Start doesn't work, and nor does the adaptive cruise control kick in when in cruise control mode. . . I'm now just assuming i have a old battery and it will need replacing soon?

Anyone else experienced it?

Firstly both your aux and main batteries are dying.. the aux is probably dead. Whoever checked the charge should have also checked the capacity to see the condition of the batteries. I'm guessing they didn't. You may also have an alternator on the way out.. but if it's intermittent then I would replace both batteries first and then see if you're still getting charge error messages. If you've had the car 3 weeks I would go back to the trader and ask for them to do it, as it'll all cost a few hundred pound. I think the main battery is an 80ah AGM iirc.

Agree with Alex, it definitely needs checking if alternator charging. Could be on its way out, but could be battery connection loose as well. Needs checking first before any spend if you ask me

Don't sweat it. Under sale of goods act, return to selling garage. Their problem to sort out batteries and altetnator.

Also ACC has a fault. Nothing to do with battery or charging issue. Usually its the radar sensor behind lower grill that packs up. Spensive ftom memory. Once again, return car to garage for them to sort under SOGA.
