AndyB, do you have any difficulty filling the tank with the mis-fuelling device fitted? I have tried three aftermarket devices up to now, and have removed all of them after experiencing various problems with filling the tank up.

Philayl are you sure it is the device and not the pump that is causing the problem. I have a Fuel Angel in my 3.00 and it works well. We have had discussion about the anti- spill device fitted to some pumps which can be a real pain. Slow filling pumps

Hi Peter, whatever is causing the problem they did not allow the pump to deliver the fuel into the tank at anything over a dribble, so reluctantly removed. Although I must say looking at the Fuelsave device it seems that this might work, I will give it a try I think. Phil

I have encountered this problem at filling stations that are almost unattended, in other words card payment only sites. I am sure that the pumps have what amounts to an almost anti-delivery device installed, not suggesting that this is the issue you are having, just commenting.
It would make sense that precautions are taken to ensure that spills don't occur because there may not be staff on site to clean up. When I first came across this problem it was at the Asda site in Milton Keynes, shortly after installing my Fuel Angel on my present car. I immediately thought that the device was unusable on the 3.00 D.
After I realised what the problem was I have never returned there and the Fuel Angel has worked well elsewhere ever since.

The mis-fueling device (standard factory Jaguar device fitted) seems to have become faulty as it now takes forever to re-fuel has there been any other experience or know issues with this please?

I think that my earlier post, below, concerning anti spill technology incorporated in delivery pumps may be the issue you are experiencing. Does it occur when filling up in all stations :?:

An aside to the problem of sensitive pumps, this occurred to me a few weeks ago but at a station I regularly use. At home, I manually tripped the misfuelling device inside the spout then reset it. All has been fine since.

I think your mis-fueling device may have triggered which is why it is now very slow to fill. Unfortunately the Jaguar device is not failsafe and it still allows fuel to enter the tank, albeit slowly! The device may have been triggered by being knocked while filling up at some point. Just check and reset it if necessary with the tool in the boot.

Re-fuelling

Seems to take ages to re-fuel. No matter what angle I put the nozzle at I have to keep stopping and starting. Is it me or is there an art to it???? :?:

Ah, well, botanical green car, red face. I'm one of the 'idiots' that also put 10 ltrs of decaffinated into the diesel tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The AA man told me the mis-fuelling device is there to let you know you've put wrong fuel in, not to stop you doing it! Just like doddse it didn't stop me putting petrol in at normal speed. I really thought the mis-fuelling device was there to STOP you putting the wrong fuel in. On advice of the dealer I'm taking the XF 3.0 in to get this mis-fuelling device checked. Interestingly I've never put petrol in my Series III diesel Landie.

On my XF, the filler will only function if the nozzle has a certain diameter. On the Diesel pumps in Germany the actual filler nozzle is thicker in diameter preventing it going deeper into the tank itself. If one acccidently tries it with normal petrol pump with the thinner nozzle enabling it to go in deeper, a flap cuts off the entry flow which one will then have to reset, as has already been mentioned.
I filled up yesterday, as a matter of fact, and I was suspicious that the fuel cut off much quicker than usual but did not pay it any particular heed. I paid and then switched on and the tank was not full!!
I repeated the filling process and then it was finally full up. This morning I checked the yellow reset flap and it was still ok. The German fillers will switch off automatically if one sets the small trigger on the volume lever on the nozzle. In the UK this feature does not normally function. Anyway the trigger kept switching the fuel delivery off, so I suppose it was faulty......too much delivery pressure?
