Good Evening All,

Last night driving the Jag in the motorway, the Red Restricted Performance error came up on the dash, so i limp safely with the wife and 2 girls to to my dads. When i got to my dads I powered off the car, left it 5 mins, started the car and it seemed to be ok. So thought i'd pop out with the wife to check the car, Drove it for about 15 to the shops, then 15 mins back and the car seemed fine, no errors and pickup seemed ok. So left my dads, which is 25 mins drive home, of that was a constant 70 MPH drive on the motorway for 10 mins, No error came up.

My cousin has a Snap On diagnostic ecu reader, so i have borrowed that today to plug into the car, it has found a few error codes.

I was thinking of clearing the errors and seeing if it comes up again, or do i go with replacing the map sensor. Could it be a blip and the car saw a fault, but its ok now.

What would you do in this instance ?

Clear the codes. If a fault exists the codes will reappear.

Codes reflect symptoms for investigation not necessarily faulty components. And air leak might throw that code for example.

no sure if it was manifold - more likely not as it would not be plastic! simply can't remember parts name LOL

looks like it's a beginning of an issue if problem occurs only under heavy load (for now). can't say for sure obviously, but pretty certain it will be air leak somewhere on air induction route

Intercoolers were known to crack and leak.
