This weeks auto express is saying that the Jaguar range will have a hybrid including the XF its due 2010 and will be 10% better on fuel it wll be based on the new 3.0 diesel.

Strange but I would have thought that Jaguar would have wanted to keep that quiet for a while as it may affect sales on the current range.

Just read the same artical in Autocar and it calls it a 'micro hybrid' which is basically just stop-start technology, same as you get in any BMW.

Also says Jag are only 'considering' a full hybrid for the XJ.

I'm pretty sure there's no XF full hybrid anytime soon.

There will be no hybrid until the refresh in 2012/13. The first hybrid for Jaguar will appear on the 2010 XJ and it will be a capacitator hybrid rather than using battery packs. This may well then end up on the XF in 2012.

The 3.0 diesel engine is an all new design and will be available from Autumn 09
