Hi
New to the forum and a potential XF owner via a company car scheme.

After a run of 2 BMW 520D M Sports I decided that its time for a change so went with the wife to test drive the XF 2.2 yesterday.

We drove the Premium luxury (which will be out of my price range) and I have to say we were both very impressed. Great ride , performance and a very pleasant place to do my commute across the M62.

On returning to the dealer we started to talk contract hire rates and this is where the wheels dropped off.

Basically Jaguar Finance wanted £549/m for a 25k/annum 3 year contract (non maintained) based on the Luxury spec. Compare this to the new BM 520D M sport specced to match the XF (sat nav/auto etc) at £512/m

What really surprised me was that Jag wanted £14.50/m for Metallic paint which is effectively FOC with the german brands. I would also have to do something about those 17 inch rims as they ruin the look of the car IMO.

So has anyone had any decent deals from other contract hire companies which may help me get into an XF????

Welcome to the forum Diamondman

I don't think that Jaguar contract hire rates are very competitive & it may be worth using a specialist broker for this type of finance. If you want to use Jaguar finance have a look at the PCP deals as these were much better.

Hi Diamondman

Welcome to the Forum.

If we can assist with getting some quotes together from our various finance partners please send me a message with the exact model and payment/mileage profile you are looking for and I'll be happy to see if we can help.

If spending over £500 per month anyway, does a difference of £37 really become a show stopper?? That's just over one pound per day to drive the XF which has infinitely more character, style, better looks (inside & out), better handling and is an altogether more engaging and desirable car than for example the 520d  (IMHO of course )

Just a quick update for anyone looking at a business contract hire deal. BMW dealer came back to me last week to advise that his quote needed to be modified (much to his embarrassment ) due to
1. Price increase from Aug 1st
2. BMW finance having changed their residual predictions (down)

Net result The cost of auto 520D M Sport effectively the same as a XF Prem Lux (which I have since learned seems to have better residuals than the Lux in the Jaguar Finance system)

Will still need to add a few quid from my own pocket each month but I am sure its worth it

Still can't get my head round £14/m for premium paint though

Premium paint is a £600 option so I guess they are clawing it back via the rental charges. Not sure if premium paint has raised residual values??

Hi, newcomer here... i would definitely look to compare with one of the internet brokers on a PCP quotation, they will tend to come in more attractive than jaguar on APR rate and will have a much lower balloon payment, which is what you want. Then take it to jaguar and ask them to re quote as they will be able to move on the ££'s. Jaguar's balloon payment was over £4,000 higher than the broker's on a 3.0s prem lux !
