As I'm still waiting impatiently for my XF lets have a run down of our car history and see who has the best and worst. Bear in mind I'm only 31 so nothing too interesting in mine

From earliest to current:

Lime Green Mini Metro

Bought for £50 when £50 bought you nothing. 100 years old when I bought it - rust through the floor so you could copy the Flintstones. First Car though and still fond memories of it even though it was a typical banger!

Ford Fiesta Zetec

Loved it at the time because I was 19 and it had fog lights and looked sporty.

Ford Focus Zetec

Good car but boring

Alfa Romeo 147

My first and last company car. Indicators worked intermittently and had to go to the garage 3 times in a year but I still loved this car - the interior was lovely and classy - great engine too.

Audi TT Coupe

My first sports / hairdressers car. Absolutely loved it and still do.

BMW Z4

Had to get a convertible so traded in the TT for a Z4. Fantastic car bought never really loved it the same way I did the TT.

Volvo XC90

Kids arrive and so do the family cars.

BMW 3 Series Convertible

Wifes car but turns into mine as its a pain to get the kids in the back seats. Sold to get the XF.

Range Rover Sport Supercharged

Love this car. Never get to drive it as the wife always has it. This is going to have to go soon though as it's only really doing city driving and killing me at 12 mpg.

Jaguar XF 2.7d Premium Luxury

TO BE CONTINUED!

Re: What's Your Car History?

Well, same here starting at earliest:

VOLVO 340
Leaky fuel tank, fuel gauge that only worked till half tank, anything below and it showed empty, piece of 2x2 boot lid holder upper.

CITROEN BX
Fantastic bouncy car!

ROVER 200 (newer shape)
Fantastic car to clean, loved the shape of the bonnet!

TOYOTA MR2 Convertible
Loved it!

SAAB 93 '04 sports saloon
Wifes favourite car to date.

BMW 3 series Convertible (hard top)
Yeah great fun, but getting miffed with 18MPG and the "BMW stigma"
also must admit, not over impressed with the build quality too!

Report to follow

Re: What's Your Car History?

1967 Chevy Chevelle (4 door, my first car, was 14)

1976 Chrysler Cordoba (400 mopar engine, sucked gas, awful car, the ultimate land yacht)

1976 Camaro (with a '73 Z-28 350 engine, quite fast, handling was awful)

1980 Triumph Spitfire (I'm poor, but had eyes on British cars, I still have this one!)

1991 Saturn SC (not quite so poor now, out of college)

1993 Camaro (had my first job at a big corporation, this was fun to drive, underpowered, looked great for a $20K car, but cheaply made)

1996 Chrysler Sebring convertible (new job, making more money, but still too poor for a proper car - I think this was a 96 - fun car, fairly well built, had to trade it for a family-friendly car)

1994 Jaguar XJ6 (XJ40, great car, loved it, ate brake pads and rotors frequently)

2001 Ford Expedition (shared with the new wife)

2003 Land Rover Discovery (I got a lemon, parts were falling off in 6 months, traded it after 1 year)

2003 Chevy Suburban (shared with the wife, this was mostly her car)

1998 Jaguar XJ8L (my 2nd XJ, beautiful, wonderful silver car with a nice big leaper in front, loved it, but it was getting old and starting to have various problems, I miss this one, and hope to have another XJ)

2008 Nissan Altima (mostly the wife's car)

2009 Jaguar XF (finally!)
