As goes the propaganda outfit, goes the regime it fronts for - both circling the plughole:

Maybe Spaffer and Squeaky Sunak will commission Carwow and Watson too, do a vid in a quarry, about 'Iconic UK', and how it's much, much bettter than 'Pre-1980/1948 UK', and the plebs need to get with it, and buy into this exciting 4-pot diesel future, from just £58k.

Unfortunately for JLR, for every 'independent car reviewer' they buy - Cropley, Massey, English, Lieberman etc, Clarkson/Top Gear/TGT history, no one watches public school fossils boring for England, so come on down Carwow, the staged RRSport tug of war vids, and now the desperate, 'the Icon ain't selling, so get the increasingly manic(too much coke?), poor man's Norman Wisdom with the hysterical voice to convince the plebs to buy it' - 'Mat says it's ace!' - there's always the unavoidable reality of the worst made, poorly-engineered, and utterly non-developed vehicles in the world to crash it back to earth, and 'TFL' will actually have more genuine offroad buyers, and US-based obviously, than the 'millions of hits' by schoolkids and similar 40-somethings like Watson, pretending and acting they're still 18:

The engine management light was fixed and a few days later another software problem with the back up camera. Requires a new module which is on back order from UK
Comments on U Tube are not very complementary. “Serve you right for buying a Land Rover” etc
Have a look at the sequel video.

- comments were brilliant - lot of talented people out there - million times better than 'comedy'/'entertainment' on the idiot tube or system-approved 'top', achingly pc standups.

What struck me afterwards, was how does JLR get away with not flagging up its faults, just a very small, hard to see in bright US-type sunlight, cryptic engine symbol?

Surely they have to declare a message, either in the binnacle, and/or in the infotainment screen. What is this, the 1970s? Text messages of faults, warnings, advisories etc, have been common in cars since the late 80s.

OBD/DTC codes are nearly always cryptic, to the point of the Times crossword+, or uselessly generic for a cheapo OBD tool.

An $80k+ vehicle in six-cylinder form with a fault warning you would have found in an 80s Austin Maestro.

Only JLR can get away this guff.

Given what's happening in UK, the economy, and the now obvious to a fool plan of 'They' to crash it completely, Spaffer the toad playing along, his half-hearted 'we must get out and save the economy' dissolved into a puddle of lard, being the purveyor of broken £70k toys, mostly diesel-powered, is not one that has 'will be here this time next year' stamped all over it.

"Review" - a French farce starring a slaphead nobody's seen:

'Up to six former and planned models might be scrapped under former Renault chief executive Thierry Bolloré'

'Jaguar Land Rover’s new boss could slash the car-maker’s product range — even ditching its forthcoming electric XJ saloon.'

- Zut alors!

- Autocar's 'JLR-Deepthroat', Hilton Holloway, told us just a while ago that eXJ and Road Rover(presumably EV also) would be appearing/launching, albeit delayed by about a month, in October/November, this year.

Well, October's got just 2 weeks left, and still no sign of either.

Seems Holloway's 'deepthroat' source at JLR - the company his employer Haymarket works for(or did) - may have been under a rock for the last few months/year or so, as it was obvious to the stray dog outside the Castle Brom factory that eXJ/'New XJ' had as much prospect of being a thing as a non-Serco vendor of 'oven-ready, world-beating govt. solutions', i.e. nil.

Bollore's real role, why he was hired, is to be the 'circuit breaker', to coin a phrase, where he can axe programmes that supposedly were set in stone, imminent, '11:59' for launch, but of course were just long-dead anyway fronts/vehicles for more £billions of taxpayer money to be given to Tata.

The 'shock' news that eXJ and probably Road Rover will never see the light, will cause consternation, among those of questionable IQ and high gullibility - that's the BBC watching/Daily Mail reading 'Middle England' taken care of.

But will Bollore follow through and do the bleeding obvious - close Castle Brom, and 'Jaguar'?

What will Autocar, Comical Ali-Cropley particularly, say tomorrow morning, to keep JLR fanboys' peckers up - 'Keep Calm and think of poor billionaires in Bombay'?, '2021 will be JLR's year'? 'I've been sectioned'?

'the six' by the way will be:
  • eXJ
  • Road Rover
  • J-Pace
  • XE
  • XF
  • F-type
- leaving 'Jaguar' as '-Pace' - E-, F- and I-Pace.

Take out the awkward but too high-profile to bin I-Pace, and you have 'Jaguar' as a 'Riley' to Austin, Elf to the Mini.

Farcical. Even the thickest will see it for what it is - pathetic, a refusal to grasp the nettle, and consign 'Jaguar' to the 1960s history books, where it belongs, limping it along, pretending it still exists, to not upset the hoi polloi, just before Crimbo and all, when their touchstone of national greatness and superiority - Spitfire, Le Mans, E-type etc- would be a now 50 years plus old lie smashed to smithereens.

Autocar's Monday morning pep talk seems to be to ready public opinion for the 'unavoidable' closure of at least one JLR factory, plus Vauxhall Ellesmere and Nissan Sunderland for starters, with this deliberate disinfo, making UK look massively 'over-factoried', over-represented in the proportion of car plants in Europe/world:

'Germany has the most, with 42 factories, while France has 31 and Italy 23. Outside the EU, Russia has 31 plants, the UK 30 and Turkey 17.'

- so UK is almost three-quarters the size of the mighty German auto industry - right oh. Lies, damn lies... .

The '30 plants' in UK, as Holder and any child would know, are screwdriver plants, and include the likes of Honda Swindon, already basically closed.

VW's Wolfsburg facility alone is the size of the now UK car industry, across end production and production depth.

A nation of true nearly 80 million people, producing not far off as little as 1 million cars, with true JLR and Nissan around 250k a piece, and next to nothing commercial vehicles - JCB is UK's true largest 'automotive' maker now - is pathetic

We don't have 'too many plants', 'too much car industry' in the UK, we have a non-indigenous industry that used UK for its Single Market bridgehead nearly 40 years ago, the Japs, an outlier, 'out-liver' in JLR, that would have expired 20-30 years ago, if it wasn't for Ford and Alec Issigonis's cousin, BMW's Bernd Pischetsrieder, and the dregs of GM's massiveness from 50+ years ago.

All that is now being unwound, under convenient scapegoating cover of The Thing.

Japan Inc. doesn't need/want its UK bridgehead anymore. JLR is the living dead, kept on life support for 30 years, and PSA will swing the axe with Ellesmere Port, and eventually Luton, once this mania for online buying gets real with a completely pauperised population, who can afford nothing, unless Amazon becomes an online pawn shop.

make that 7:

- doesn't matter, whether it's 6, 7, ...or 12/13 - the RRSport/Full-fat is the only car(s) that still sells somewhat and makes some money.

Bollore knows this of course. He knows he can't axe 90% of the product, shut 3 UK car plants, move 'volume' production to Slovakia, and keep some UK operation as a boutique affair, employing max 2,000 workers, sacking ~30,000 workers.

But he has to do something. The easiest, 'lowest hanging fruit', is 'cancelling' the things that were already 99% cancelled - eXJ, Road Rover and J-Pace - and make great play of these 'decisive', 'extremely difficult', 'painful' actions.

XE and XF are likewise falling off a log territory - 'strong man Bollore takes axe to Jag's saloons' etc, when they were already with rigor mortis.

But DSport is different. Axe that, and Halewood is next on the chopping block.

The regime in London would love nothing better than to give Merseyside a swift upper cut to the jaw, or to the nose - if Spaffer is involved(like pater) - their hate for the people pathological, as they can't control them, break them, like the forelock-tugging serfs of 'Middle England'.

You can almost see Meryseyside applying for EU membership, following Scotland, Catalonia etc, a picked-on region, with feck all to do with the mother country.

Bollore will have been told that at all costs he must leave Solihull untouched, given it's a Tory heartland place, and try his best to keep Castle Brom 'open' - the pretence of it.

Making the Evoque in Slovakia, or China and importing it, would be easy, given its real demand of around 40k global.

The DSport got found out. It sold well for a while, from launch in 2015 for a couple of years, and then the likes of the Tiguan/Ateca/Kodiaq, Pug 3008/5008, updated Sportage etc came along, cars costing up to 50% less, for better fuel economy, far better reliability, etc.

JLR got found out - selling a refrocked, renamed 2006 Freelander for twice the price, and without the decent PSA/Ford 2.2-litre diesel.

No one but 60, 70-year old flush ultra patriots towing carvans now buys a £45, 50, nearly 60k Ingenium DSport.

The no-show PHEV was the final straw, and then JLR, under pressure from 2021 non-EU UK, had to admit that driving a 2.3 tonne+ car with a 3-pot 1.5-litre engine might cause real fuel economy of that of an HGV, and real EV range nearer to single figures than the claimed 41 miles.

Gameover, for this nasty, ultra cynical product, which took the decent Volvo/Ford Freelander/FL2, and destroyed it through greed, arrogance and laziness.

Lieberman(Motor Trend) has just given the "Hunter Biden Award" to The Icon - you'd have to be off your head on crack, allegedly, to buy one, or have a Chinese, Ukranian... oligarch pay for it, for 'services rendered', allegedly.

Real Joes, not Creepy Joe(allegedly), wouldn't go near it - hence Lieberman's, spitting in your face, desperate award.

Back to the real world, not Media(UK/US)-world, where JLR and the media still think it's 2011-2016 and they can make this nonsense fly with the plebs. This is the actual important news of yesterday:

- the first sighting of the launching in around 12 months Porsche Macan EV - on the VAG/Porsche 'PPE' EV platform - not the Taycan/e-tron GT 'J1' platform, nor VAG's 'cheapo' MEB.

- a car directly where the I-Pace/Road Rover should have been - medium-sized/compact(US), premium+, high/v.high performance - selling like hot cakes.

Porsche making a monkey of JLR now on a daily basis - today a full-sized limo with the same BiK as JLR's 3-pot PHEVs - and probably twice the electrical range in reality:

'Porsche has also released details of a revised version of the more affordable Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. Sitting below the previously announced 552bhp 4S E-Hybrid, it offers a combined 456bhp from a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 and electric motor combo. It’s capable of 0-62mph in 4.4sec and a top speed of 174mph. The official all-electric range is up to 35 miles, with CO2 emissions of 47-51g/km – almost a 40% improvement on the old model.'

- meaning BiK of 10%, compared to 18% for the RRSport/Full-fat PHEV, and of course different planet faster, up to 3 times the real-world electric range, an Audi RS engine under the bonnet, compared to the nasty 4-pot Ingenium, and it's a Porsche, so won't fall apart on contact with the real world, and have rock-solid residuals.

I think the gloves are off with VAG/Porsche SE, who were scarred by the whole UK/US Dieselgate thing, trying to kill them, if not take al their money, and now are not playing nicely, realising the scum they're dealing with, so are showing all their engineering talents to full extent, with blow rained down after blow, on the muppet regime fronts JLR and Tesla. Can't blame them, can you.

Everything fake:

'The dealer in Stockport has had the car for over 3 weeks now and still no answer as to what the problem is and what the timescale is for fixing it.

So will have had the car for 28 days, with the car developing a battery failure in less than 24 hours. Frustratingly, the lease company, Arval, doesn't seem keen on pushing for a rejection or replacement under warranty. So I am paying for a lease for a car I am not using.

Should Arval / NHS fleet be refunding month's lease? Not sure how that works as i am leasing via salary sacrifice.'

- fake 'Hero'/Saint/'Angel' - quack - 'working himself/herself(2/3rds of <40 year old quacks are now she) to death', slaving over a hot Covid stove, drawing fake salary, typically £100-250k+, more for GP 'partners'/businessmen and private-work consultants, money under false pretences from the taxpayer, doing Zoom calls from the golf club, twiddling their thumbs in empty hospitals, suckered into leasing the fakest car of all time, The Gamechanger, on the fakest reviews, awards, from the fakest Fourth Estate since cave paintings, and now fake 'contracts', with lease companies unable to tell the muppet 'top' quack, the bleeding obvious - I-Paces on the NHS is all about propping up JLR with taxpayer money, backdoor funding/baliout, anything but selling good cars to discerning, done their homework petrolheads.

'Arval' and other NHS/taxpayer leeches, NHSFleetSolutions and co., know the score - the cars they get basically for free, or front for .Gov, and so have no interest, certainly financial, in 'lemoning' these crap, toys, non-working Gamechangers, as they get their money/fees regardless.

You'd think a 'top' quack, with supposed 130 IQ or more, no doubt 4 A/A*s from a top public school, Oxbridge/Durham/Bristol, 10-15 years experience in quackery, to get to Consultant or GP partner, might have the grey matter to work it out - but of course they don't, it's all on paper, strings pulled, the right, £35k/yr fee-paying school, scraping/repeating ad infinitum exams if necessary, which is why they are the shock troops of 'They''s Thing - useful idiots, who will toe the line forever, thinking they're the Elite, technocrats, Magic Circle, esoteric inside knowledge holders, but actually just being played by They as any lowly pleb - hence why they leased/bought the I-Pace in their hundreds/thousands, and are now 'shocked' to find its a 70s Lada for 10x the price.

Launching in about 9 months, new Merc SL, exactly what the F-type should have been - low-low bonnetline, engine behind/mostly behind front axle, performance to scare a 911, classically beautiful to look at - what made 'Jaguar' with the E-type:

Eventually... something has to give - no genuine new product since the Ford days, 10-15 years ago, competition in overdrive over the last 5 years from Dieselgate and EV(/PHEV), a media who says the 180-truth of your real situation, a state that uses you as a Potemkin/posterchild, rather than an actual business, results in the catastrophe we now see, the gathering storm, late 2020, with No-Deal, tariffs and lorries backed up to Bristol just weeks away - 'a very limited and specific' redundancy programme(the latest one):

'Up to 650 JLR jobs at threat in new voluntary redundancy scheme'

- Bollore finally wielding the axe - probably from the Dordogne or Monaco - 'you've been Zoomed' - now toddle off and take your P45. Note this is just for the West Mids operations, too. Halewood lined up for closure?

'Covid/The Thing' to blame of course, which 99.9% of the sheep will buy - 'poor JLR, brought down by The Virus, when the Germans couldn't lay a glove on it'.

So, this is how it works:
  • 'IR35' chopped last year/earlier this year - thousands effectively out the door - off payroll
  • serial redundancy programmes - 'a few hundred here, a few hundred there', soon you're talking several more thousand out the door
  • thousands gone in the last 2 years or so, effectively from JLR's workforce, with DHL, Manpower etc taking an axe to their JLR ops.
  • almost certainly a freeze on hiring/non-essential roles, no retiring/eaving replacement
= about 15,000 gone by early 2021, compared to 'Speth's Peak(BS)', in ~late 2017.

- all crucially without the 'BL mark II' PR disaster, we would have seen from a non-criminal press, or the press lined up behind Thatcher, the effective coup d'etat of the mid to late 70s - see Peter Wright's 'Spychatcher', even Netflix's 'The Crown' etc - that swept Unionism and working-class solidarity away on the chaos of BL, that was orchestrated by agent provocateurs, and bought off lowlifes, like many of the 'Red' senior shop stewards and convenors, actually on M*5's payroll.

Not a word about JLR's meltdown in the media. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

you couldn't make this up - they're blaming the fish now, Covid bollox must be coming threadbare - a literal red herring:

'Fears the car industry is being sacrificed to protect UK fishing'

- Mitchell, jumped-up Tory-Boy provincial solicitor, was the geezer who called the Downing St plods 'f'ing plebs' by the way, because they hadn't jumped to attention and opened the gates quickly enough for His Highness.

So, Spaffer's 'brain', Slaphead Cummings and his all Oxbridge PPE super-brain SpAds, will have none too bright upstairs Brummies looking to lynch Brixham trawlermen, when Tata has to pull the plug in a couple of months' time, when No-Deal kills what's left of the pretence of a 'major' carmaker in the UK/West Mids.

Mitchell's not that thick. He know's what the real purpose of Brexit is - The City of London, unmolested in its money laundering, and the Crown's unmolested tax evasion network.

He's playing to the peanut gallery, setting one off against another, divide and rule, while the real culprits get away scot free.

Above the law rogue PR outfit, fronting for an above the law criminal cabal, 'HM.gov', aided by knob polishers par excellence, 'HM Press', who will doing anything for a shekel, realises it is above the law, the peasants are not revolting, even with JLR-on-steroids 'Bungs for Cronies' Serco, HS2, Deloittes and the like, realises knob polishers have no other skill or income source, so will print any old spitting in your face lies, and crucially, realise it'll all be over in a few months, when they can blame their looting of £billions of taxpayer money, and destruction of a half-decent car company left to them/the nation by Ford and BMW, on No-Deal - those damn fishermen - so go for broke, triple-down, reversing the momentary backpedalling on their found-out lies, and up the ante even more, knowing none of them will be doing the perp walk in Merry Olde Bent and Terminally Sick England - electric range now increased on the original whopper lie, from the momentary near-reality/EU-fearing twentysomething miles, and corresponding CO2 and BiK all the lowest possible:

Notice, even Comical Ali-Cropley is having trouble keeping up with JLR's lies and criminality, and by the minute revisions, >40 miles 'official'/DfT rubber-stamped for most of 2020, then twentysomething miles last week(worried about EU investigations/prosecutions), now 43('F*ck, it, it'll be over in a few weeks, and the UK plebs accept any old literal sh!t') and his 'review'/usual tongue down the back of the trousers job was saying '6% BiK' a couple of hours ago, now '10% BiK', when 43 miles EV range - if was true - officially equates to indeed 6% BiK, not 10:

When even your lie peddler-in-chief, go-to knob polisher in the already craven, vermin, lying their heads off for the regime and its PR fronts media is struggling to make head or tail of it, keep up with the lying and double-/triple-downing, open criminality of his client, you know we've hit peak madness, and the whole thing's about to blow, which these vermin scum, hiding behind and using a combination of Covid and No-Deal to give as the reasons for the complete collapse of this 'stunningly successful' car company/state-protected criminal outfit, know is imminent.

Come on Croppers, take another sanatogen, and have another go ar reading a simple table, BiK to CO2 and EV range, and have another stab at JLR's latest lie.

'Gamechanger(s)' DSport(/Evoque) PHEV BiK -6% - buy this stunner, retards and deathwishers, and HM.gov will give you a tax refund?

'sell out of its skin' - Croppers bucking for a job with 'NHS Track&Trace', cough, Serco, as PR head? No sh!t, Sherlock - you don't say - the regime is going to use Covid and now No-Deal for the primary and overwhelming reasons for JLR's collapse, not its over decade-long fraud and criminality, actually going bust in 2015-16, but kept alive as a vehicle for contunuing UK taxpayers money extraction to prop up the equally bust enterprises of its foreign billionaires owners, and brainwash sap British plebs that they had a 'world-beater', JLR the cherry on the cake of the most exceptional nation on the planet, Spitfire, E-type etc, for which they must be eternally grateful, doff their caps, tug their forelocks, and not kick off in any way, when the reality of living in an exceptional, world-class sh!thole like Modern Britain is £7/hr pay/no work for the 90%, and £billions, tens of £billions of these paupers' even by third-world standards taxes money given to the least talented, laziest and most immoral/evil, in the ruling cabal's crony 0.1%, and a few bob for their lackeys/useful idiots in the 10%, the media, pols, plod, 'science experts'/'professions' and so on:

'Brexit failure a graver threat to UK carmakers than Covid, Moody’s warns'

- of course they want No-deal. It allows the continuation of the world's biggest criminal operation in the City of London and the Crown offshore tax-evasion dependencies to continue forever, away from meddling, somehat normal, human Euroean judges, and as perfect cover and excuse for dropping crime operations like JLR, without arousing the suspicions of the dumbed-down locals - 'the obstinate EU was to blame for the collapse of this stunning, world-beating, exceptional company, that had been poised to smash the Germans, and all good British plebs must hate them very much for doing this' - Mitchell, Patterson, Rees-Mogg, Spaffer, The Express, Torygraph, 'Middle England' etc.

Before this gets memory-holed, in totalitarian, Ministry of Truth regime fashion, to explicitly lay out JLR's, the media's and the regime's lying, conspiracy to defraud gullible muppets, aka 99% of the British population, almost literally spitting in their faces and telling them it's gentle raining:

the saga of the 'world-beating' DSport/Evoque PHEV:

'Land Rover has had to raise the SUVs' stated CO2 emissions figures above the original amount promised when they went on sale in April.'

'Land Rover previously said the Evoque P300e's CO2 was as low as 32 grams per km and the Discovery Sport P300e was as low as of 36 g/km.'

'Land Rover now says the lowest emitting model records 44 g/km and has an electric range of 43 km (27 miles), compared to 66 km previously. The automaker declined to say which model reaches those levels.'

- just 6 days ago, written by JLR-apologist, Haymarket hack, 'freelancer' Nick Gibbs - no friend of JLR-lies exposures

And now, October 21st, not even a week later, after Gibbs reported on JLR's 'revision', upwards!, of the PHEV(s) CO2 emission, and hence lower mpg, EV range and crucially higher BiK, fearing, perhaps, EU checking post 1/1/21, resulting in investigations, and possibly prosecutions:

Technical specs

Model tested: Discovery Sport P300e R-Dynamic AWD

Price: £45,370

Engine: 3 cyls, 1498cc, turbocharged, petrol, plus 48V ISG and electric motor

Transmission: 8-speed automatic

- the same system as, nicked/read-across from Volvo-Aisin by the way - now nearly 10 years old - 'JLR gamechanging, motor on back axle PHEV'

Fuel economy
175.5mpg

CO2
32g/km

Electric range
43 miles

BIK tax band
10%

- WTF!!!

So let's get this straight. A revision upwards from originally stated/claimed/barefaced lied 36g per km CO2 for the DSport PHEV, to at least 44 grammes, possibly for the lighter, smaller Evoque PHEV, is now 32 grammes. What?

Someone at JLR challenged by the concept of upwards?

Or, as I said above, the f'ing weasel vermin have got their scummy heads together over the weekend just gone, and thought 'F*ck it!, the plebs don't give a sh!t if we eat babies, and we know No-deal is being lined up to give as the reason to these thicko plebs that JLR has gone t!ts up, so let's have a proper laugh on the way out, rub their stupid credulous sap noses in it, and get that half-senile knob polisher Aussie to write it up with a straight face, and his wannabe at the Auto Express rag, John McIlroy(ex- of JLR Weekly of course), to do likewise for the Evoque. Cheers!'

Moral of the story: if Serco can get away with it, why can't JLR - p!ssing in the faces of the plebs, and telling them it's gentle rain?

The country's collapsed. There is now law, and no morality. The 'lower orders' have taken their cue from the 'elites', the 'great and good' - in yer face massive corruption, one law for me, one law for thee, no one goes to jail, ever, for anything, if they're from the right class/cabal, or have some function that serves the cabal - JLR's - PR for the plebs to make them proud.

It's over. Like JLR, the country/regime it fronted for, actually died long ago - 40 years+ the terminal rot set in in UK - from M*5 skullduggery with BL, to 'the Free Market', to now the open, plain to see cabal centred around the The City/Crown, openly filling their pockets as fast as they can, as they know they have destroyed, looted the last drop of real wealth in the nation, and it's just months/weeks away before the end, when they'll need to either flee, or take off the velvet glove, and reveal fully the totalitarian, police state iron fist, which will be required to keep up to 80 million people from kicking off, realising at last but too late that they've been royally and totally had, and their lives are over.

------------------
The full article from Nick Gibb/Automotive News for posterity - to rebut the system-defending shills and agents, who'll swear JLR/the media/the regime never lied:

Land Rover halts sales of two key plug-in hybrids

Nick Gibbs

Land Rover has halted sales of two key plug-in hybrids as the automaker works to reclassify the emissions ratings of both cars.

Land Rover's websites in the UK and Germany state that the Evoque and Discovery Sport P300e plug-in hybrids "are not currently available to order."

Land Rover has had to raise the SUVs' stated CO2 emissions figures above the original amount promised when they went on sale in April.

"Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not yet in a position to deliver the previously communicated best-case WLTP combined figures," Land Rover said in a statement.

Land Rover previously said the Evoque P300e's CO2 was as low as 32 grams per km and the Discovery Sport P300e was as low as of 36 g/km.

Land Rover now says the lowest emitting model records 44 g/km and has an electric range of 43 km (27 miles), compared to 66 km previously. The automaker declined to say which model reaches those levels.

The company said it aims to improve those figures in future versions.

"Work is ongoing, as the business emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, to deliver the extended electric range and lower CO2 figures," Land Rover said, adding that the two SUVs "remain among the segment leaders" on range and economy.

Orders are schedule to restart on Oct. 26, the company said.

The sales halt is a blow to parent Jaguar Land Rover, which was counting on the SUVs to help push the automaker's fleet CO2 below the limit it needs to reach, which is 132 g/km, to avoid EU fines this year. The Evoque and Discovery Sport are JLR's two best-selling models in Europe.

A recent analysis by green pressure group Transport & Environment found that JLR was furthest away from reaching its CO2 target based on first-half sales. JLR challenged T&E's calculation that it was still 13 g/km off its target.

A figure below 50 g/km of CO2 for both the Evoque and Discovery Sport plug-in hybrids would mean the cars continue to qualify for supercredits under the European Union system, helping Jaguar Land Rover cut its average.

Customers writing on an Evoque owners forum in the UK have complained that deliveries of their ordered cars have been delayed.

One customer, posting as Hopefully 300e, wrote this week that his Discovery Sport plug-in hybrid was built in September but was still being held at the factory.

A UK Land Rover retailer told Automotive News Europe that the dealership's demonstrator model won't arrive until November. Land Rover said some dealers will start receiving their models "later this week."

The discrepancy in quoted electric-only mileage will mean some Evoque customers in the UK, Land Rover's biggest European market, will pay more company car tax than they initially thought under a scheme that incentivizes longer-range plug-in hybrids.

Ford has also struggled with its plug-in hybrid rollout after its Kuga variant with the powertrain had to be recalled in August to fix a problem that could potentially start a battery fire.

Ford had to stop sales of the Kuga PHEV and said on Thursday it would have to pool with another manufacturer to help hit its CO2 targets this year because of the delay.

In response, Ford has offered customers a 500 euro fuel card to compensate for not being able to charge their vehicles while it works to fix the problem.

Jeep meanwhile had to delay the rollout of its plug-in hybrid vehicles, including the Renegade, due to the coronavirus shutdowns.

Compulsory drug-testing(Colombian marching powder) required for Gaydon/Whitley? What else explains this?:

'Bolloré is understood to be considering halting the ['e'/'New']XJ, despite JLR and its suppliers having spent tens of millions of pounds on tooling for the new car. It has limited sales prospects, with Jaguar hoping to sell 38,000 a year.'

- note the hundreds/thousands of JLR paid shills, sorry, 'Pistonheads petrolheads', haven't touched this, like the plague They'd rather pile into the '32g/km CO2' 2.3 tonne 3-pot £50k- 'world-beater', less than a week after even some of the media told the world JLR had been caught cheating, the emissions of its 'new' PHEVs, and hence mpg, EV range and BiK.

But, if the crack users, sorry, 'top', '13,000 engineers' and marketing whizzes at JLR thought they could flog nearly 40k 'Gamechanger II's/I-Pace with a boot and a ride height drop for £100-150k, to non-NHS, non-UK.gov, non-paying VIPs and rental/lease firms, they're high as a kite, as hopped up as their now chief promoter, the Norman Wisdom tribute act at Carwow.

'38,000'. Daimler struggles to sell not much more than that of ordinary S-Classes, even with China sewn up for them.

Divide that by 10, and you have the truth, reality. The 2009-2019 XJ, a rebodied 2003 X350, did around that at peak, once you stripped out the UK taxpayer subs, the Whitehall fleet and so on.

Bollore went in/Zoomed from Monaco, listened to the coked up arrogant nutters at Gaydon/Whitley, believing 12 years of smoke blown up their backsides by media, state and adoring plebs, and said 'Sacre Bleu! - or FFS!, lay off the dope, you whackos, and pick up your P45s.

The XJ's history - was with the end of the last real XJ, Ford's 2003 X350.
