Rubber linings can cause issues in cold weather. I would recommend a product called 'Gummi Pflege'. It's an Einzsett product - you should be able to get it from any BMW dealership or on the 'Net (eg. eBay). It comes as a roll-on applicator and you apply it to all the rubber linings on your car and it effectively lubricates them and stops them sticking.
I have sold my XF and now have a car with frameless windows which dip slightly when you open the door. I've lined the rubber trim around the door frame with Gummi Pflege and there have been no issues with any sticking in sub-zero temperatures.
It only costs around a fiver and can be used to line any rubber trim to stop it sticking to any other surface.
