As a new member, I have noticed some members have had problems with condition of paintwork, regarding foreign objects under paint (Only THREE clean panels)
Still waiting for dealer to get back to me after 2 weeks, will be calling tomorrow.
Would like to here from any members who have had the same promblem and what the dealer did to rectify the fault
Many thanks Neilson

Welcome to the forum Neilson. :)
I don't think paint issues have troubled many owners.
I am sure if you have a manufacturing problem with your paint finish the dealer will quickly report it and a remedy will be applied.
Let us all know how you get on. :)

It would help if you did not use capital letters. People often will not read posts of that type because often is it is tedious. :)

If I remember correctly, Jaguar exchanged your first car for a new one when a paint problem was discovered. Has Jaguar become involved with the complaint you mention in relation to the denting on the second car or is this just being dealt with by your dealer :?:
Why does the dealer not return the car to a paint shop for professional care instead of faffing around with it himself :?:

Sorry about capitals, but thats a butcher for you. Dealer has now agreed to put car into an approved Jaguar paint specialist so hopefully my problems will be over and I can enjoy my XF.

That is good news; let's hope that it is done to your complete satisfaction and you can as you say, enjoy your XF :)

During my five trips to the dealer over a period of four months I have had the chance to examine the paintwork on many Jaguars whilst I was waiting around. I would say that the general standard of paintwork on most of the Jaguars that I saw (XKs and XFs mainly) was fairly poor for a premium marque.

Many panels had a slight 'orange peel' effect. I have clayed my XF and this has improved the paintwork markedly. I don't know why the finish is relatively poor. I am very fussy when it comes to paintwork and am always on the lookout for blemishes.

As mentioned in other parts of the forum i have a number of under the paint foreign objects about 5 around the passenger "C" pillar one above th passenger rear door and one on the bonnet (to date). dealer says he thinks it is bad enough for a rejection-- Jaguar wants to spray 33% of my new car to rectify it !!!!!!

Are you saying that you can't bring yourself to look at your beautiful XF at the moment because of an imperfection inflicted on it by others :?:
Get a grip man; think of your XF as a child with a grazed knee or something. Would you turn away and deny the child your love and care

There, there, soon be better :)

Hands up on the other thing though :(
My fault, failed to secure things and a tree trunk fell against the bumper of my car causing nasty grazing. Not a problem though, took it to my local body builder and in the space of a day all was well again and nobody, but you, would know.
Seriously, the repair required the removal of the bumper, a little smoothing of the surface and then repainting. Result is a perfect repair which is undectable by me; and I really looked :)

If it makes you feel better I will cross my fingers for you :)
It is interests a body builder that I know when he sees the reaction of people when they collect their car after having major body repairs done. In every case they say "wow, that is beautiful it is just like new again, in fact better because it has got that new car shine back again"
He also says that the concern that you show regarding the ability of a body shop to repair a new car with a ding is also typical. He can't understand why if it is a new car everyone thinks that the repair will be noticeable but never in the case of a crashed car :?

Just had to phone my dealership to find out what is happening about my poor paintwork.
I now have to wait till Friday for yet another person to have a look, this will be the the fourth person, and still no further foward after 5 weeks, getting a bit irate now.
Just as well I enjoy driving the car, or I would have wasted a lot of money.

Have you emailed Jaguar Customer Services and copying the Dealer Principal :?:
