Spend 4 hours today applying a paint protection system called Blackfire.
I've never seen a car look so black and shiny. Stunning - but I am biased!

This is the most beautiful car I have ever had the privilege of owning!

Really excellent, well done indeed :)
Since we can see you, using a camera with a flash unit on it we will all have to do the same in future; wouldn't want Blackfire to gain an advantage over Maguiars .

Good results! Can you confirm which Blackfire products you used please?
I've been looking at the various specialists products available but I'm struggling to decide on which to go for.
Also, what was your paint finish like when you took delivery? I picked my Ultimate black XF up on Monday and I'm very disapointed with the finish. It's covered in swirl marks and fine surface scratches. The dealer has offered to re-polish it but I'll probably do it myself.

The car looks stunning, now you just need to apply that treatment to the satellite dish... ;)

If it is the case that you have damaged paintwork, and lets face it, swirl marks amount to just that and if you don't have access to specialist Detailing equipment, polishes and most important of all, knowledge, don't accept anything less than having the work done by anyone other than a specialist. I doubt that the dealer will have the required equipment in house, most don't.
This link will reinforce the point :)

The paint finish looked fine on delivery - but nowhere as nice as it looks now. I didn't have any swirl marks on delivery though. I went to see polished blisss - they checked the paint and they advised me on:

then

Am more than delighted with the results...never seen black like it!

Thank for the info. I'll have to settle for a phone call to Polished Bliss, I don't think I could justify the 800 mile round trip - even in a car as good as the XF

Although I've made it sound bad, it maybe a combination of me being picky along side the fact that the black paintwork shows up every mark, something I didn't get on my previous Vapour Grey XF.
