I will be picking up an XF but didn't add the ipod extra (which I am now regretting) do you think this will soon be available as a dealer fit add on?

Possibly at a price. Stuff like added on aftermarket usually involves a new wiring loom and is often priced prohibitively.

You can, of course, still play the music from your iPod in the XF using the standard USB interface.

Thanks I know you can also play the music from the ipod using the Aux port but what I wanted was to be able to use the controls on the steering wheel and the touch screen to choose tracks etc

will have to wait and see what happens I guess

Just about anything can be retrofitted but as Roma says at a price. You would also loose the CD changer

I meant 3.5" stereo jack rather than USB in my previous post. Oops!

Actually would the ipod work if it was connected via USB just as you do to connect the ipod to the pc to use with itunes?

possibly but you wouldnt get full integration on the screen
