Newbie here, Lunar Grey 2.7D, 2 months old (Loving it)

Could I upgrade the 2.7D car to match the new 3.0D S model for both Torque and bhp. This can be done using all methods, ECU programming and physical enhancements( exhaust etc).

Also if I were to get the ECU reprogrammed would this be detecable/invalidate the Warranty?

The reason I ask is that compared to my last car(Audi AD s-line 3.0diesel), there seems to be a flat spot low down in the revs and then it kicks in suddenly

Welcome to the forum Reedy :)
Questions skirting in and around this subject have been posted in the Spires ST Specialist Jaguar Tuning forum :)
I have done a quick search and I think you might find an answer within the posts.
If not, I am sure that SpireSt will be along to give his view, among others perhaps. :)

As pekem has kindly offered the 2.7D can easily be upgraded but it will never match the 3.0D S variant, it is more similar to the standard 3.0D once upgraded.

There's plenty of options but we offer the most comprehensive re-map out there which gives genuine gains and much improved driveability, the 2.7D flat spot is no longer noticeable.

OK great, I will definitely think about the upgrade.

Is this done in Slough? (I work in Reading so nice and easy!)

also there was no response as to the question about the Jaguar Warranty status once this upgrade has been done?

I think you can have it done at your office or home. However, if you want a valuable Forum member discount you need to arrange an excursion to Southampton :)

P.S. I think the question of warranty and insurance etc., was covered in some detail in the posts that I suggested you search though earlier.

ok.
really want to get the upgrade, just concerned about getting stung for a big bill!
On a different topic, like the colour of your Spires car! same as mine! Was that because you think this is the best colour for the xf?

Just had the Car chipped down in Southampton this morning.

This has totally changed the way the car drives! The biggest change is in throttle response. This change shows how bad the flat spot on the throttle was! Now it just goes when I ask without the lag or sudden engine kick when it catches up! Sport mode is even more responsive!

Also feels alot quicker! Very satisfied, also looks like around 5mpg improvement as well! I will update in a few weeks!

And its sunny so I cleaned the car as well, very happy today!

They did Benn, he just cleaned the flies off after travelling back from Southampton, trying to out run the Speed Cameras ;)
Anyway, when you have finished fighting a war and get back next week and are met by your wife, who has been seen tearing around Germany, let's hope your Lunar Grey XF is as nicely turned out and ready for inspection

Clearly you have no idea!

Wife tearing around Germany! In the 9 months we've had the car, I have never seen the DPF full warning, in the last 3 months whilst I've been away she's had it twice! Even miss Daisy would get bored with her driving

My car nicely turned out? She washed it for the first time in 3 months last sat!
Well, I say washed, she managed to drive it into the car wash and out again.

So......Am I looking forward to getting back and giving it a deep clean, then a blow out on my local de-restricted Autobahn? Blinkin right I am :D

8 days left! Not that I'm counting :D
