Have re-fuelled probably 6 or 7 times so far and on 3 of those occasions have had diesel squirt out from the filler neck. I always fill until the pump stops and never try and squeeze any more in, but the fuel shoots out just as the pump cuts out.

This has happened at different garages so can't blame a dodgy pump, and wondered if anyone else had encountered the problem :?:

Thanks
Andy

I haven't experienced any refuelling problems with either of my XF's, but I often over fill the lawn mower, no matter how hard I try not to waste precious overtaxed petrol!

I don't like wasting it either and I like it even less when I have diesel on my shoes/trousers

Will make sure I stand to the side in future

I have no technical knowledge here so this may be a stupid comment, but I am wondering if you have got some kind of airlock in the pipe or tank.

Lawnmovers yes, but I've never had that problem on a car.

I guess that's possible. I've never had this problem before so will see how it goes during the next few fill-ups.

Will have to get my wellies and rubber trousers at the ready!!!!!
