Many thanks to Roma for his tips and advice on " Claying".
I bought a starter kit of Meguiars Detailer from Halfords for about £22 and have been astonished at the result. Keep in mind that this is my first attempt and to add to the difficulty the sun has been out all day causing me to worry about the results obtainable. As it happens I suspect that I worried too much about the advice to work on a cold car and in the shade.

Well done pekem! That is a fabulous result for a first time claying. Now you see why I am fanatical about detailing. It just makes you value your XF more when it's in a state that is better than showroom condition.

I am amazed that the process seems to be so little known outside of the body finishing business. Halfords plainly sell plenty of packs to those in the know but why is it not more widely appreciated?
