Hoping somebody can throw some light on an issue I have with my 59 plate 3 litre diesel. I have an issue with steering wheel ‘wobble’ at motorway speeds. I know this is a sign of the wheels needing balancing. In recent weeks I have had all 4 wheels refurbed and balanced and the tracking done. On top of this it had also had a full service and new discs / pads and 4 new Pirelli P zeros fitted. Following a torturous 250 mile motorway drive to Devon I took it into an independent tyre specialist to check the balance / tyre pressures. According to their equipment the balance was out and all four wheels were balanced again. Travelling back on the motorway back to Cheshire five days later The problem still persisted. Once again I had all four wheels checked at another tyre place and the balance was out again!! I have also had the wheels checked to see if they are buckled and there is no obvious sign. I have had the front swapped to the back and vice versa and still the problem persists!! I am now running out of ideas!! I don’t understand how the balance can be thrown out so badly in a few days, or what else can be done to cure the problem. Does anybody have any ideas?!

Could one or more wheels be out of true? I rim can be damaged by a large impact, so the wheel is no more round or is wobbling. You seem to have tried everything else.

Has your vehicle been in an accident and been repaired? Did your previous tyres have an unusual wear pattern? Have you had your suspension checked?
