Re: Jaguar XJ Available from May
Saw this well over a year ago as a mock up, where a friend works they get a lot of pre-production cars\prototypes in, he took some pictures of it to show me (he would have been sacked if caught) and I said then I do not like the rear lights and I don't now, the interior though, is out of this world! have seen a lot of left hookers out on test near where I work travelling in convoy, have also heard that they are having a software problem with them but don't know how true that is.

There have been issues with the Infotainment screens on pre production cars and some press cars. Software updates required, which one of the reasons why first deliveries have been delayed till May. Forget that though, what a machine! Ive driven some pre production models and cant wait till 4-5 years from now when my friend depreciation will kick in and I shall pick one up.

Re: Jaguar XJ Available from May
When I picked my car up last week, the salesman said the delay was due to Bluetooth problems. Amazing that they can delay the launch of such a vital car and have millions tied up in stock just for something that they know they will be able to fix via a SW patch, but I think Jaguar really are paranoid about quality with this car - so perhaps it is the right thing.

Re: Jaguar XJ Available from May
Today I have been out and about on a ride and drive day in the new XJ What a superb car, it rides and drives very much like an XF but IMO its a bit more refined. The inside is to die for very stylish and refined and resembles a Riva speedboat. The virtual dials and instument display is pure class even better when the car is running and alive, they turn red when dynamic is selected . The LWB version is nimble and agile and easy to manouvere on the Aand B roads that was our route cosidering its 30cms longer than an XF. Were not permitted to stretch the XJ's legs on the motorway something to do with insurance IMO Jaguar have got it right the big CAT is back. Would I buy one No, it won't fit in my garage and besides I love my XF. IMO the german luxury cars have something else to worry about. Stevejay PS some pics as well.

My dealer in Bristol also said Bluetooth issues.

Re: Jaguar XJ Available from May
The car looks stunning from the front but I agree the rear lights do let the looks down. However I reserve judgement until I see one in the flesh. I've no doubt Jaguar will want to iron out all the quality issues before releasing it to the dealerships, its a vital release for a company with a current line-up of only 4 models. IMO the sooner they ditch the current X-type, the sooner the brand image revamp will be completed, it looks so out of place with the XK,XF and XJ line-up now!

I assume this is Caviar, seen today at the Brooklands JEC event. Mark

Re: Jaguar XJ Available from May
Looking through the thread just reminded me of my visit to the local Jaguar Gararge earlier this week (Germany).
Seen the new XJ in Black - looks good, although I could not get inside (its huge). You may or may not be aware that Jags are expensive over here. The spec was probably Portfolio level of the one I seen (not sure) - but the cost was 104,000 euros including tax.
I also had a squint at a XF in Caviar. I agree with the post, it does look good - had two black XF and would seriously consider changing now - and yes Caviar would be a strong contender.
