 Tow bars
There has been discussion in the past on detachable tow bars ie Jaguar fit being far more expensive that after sales fit.
My dealer is fitting a jaguar branded Brink tow bar for £657. The same bar fitted a by a national tow bar company is £737. However my previous car BMW was over a grand for a BMW bar and £550 for an aftermarket one. Guess which one I went for.
Looking forward to December when my liquid silver 3.0d and tow bar arrive

I'm sure you are looking forward to your shiny XF arriving, I had a wait a bit shorter than yours, but it went by with the help of this forum.

 tow bars
Just had a Witter tow bar fitted at a local tow bar specialist, really neat with only a small cut under the bumper. The ball attachment slides up when needed.

 Re: tow bars
On my car (not an XF) the wiring connectors swivel up out of the way when not in use (so it looks like there isn't a towbar fitted, with the detachable part removed) - is this the case with the Witter bar? Mine's a Bosal.

 Re: tow bars
I'll try and get photos uploaded but struggled last time. I have a Witter vertical fit tow bar, similar to the picture in the post above. I have new single plug electrics which swing down. Other than the small eye for the emergency cable it is invisible. I guarantee that when looking at the rear of my XF you wouldn't know it was a tow car.
1 million % better than the Jaguar standard fit or other makes.
Ian.
